Designed to have a lifespan of a lifetime, weatherproof injection moulded products can have a smaller carbon footprint than a shorter-lived organic material-based products. All KHW lines are onward recyclable too, with parts that are clearly marked with recycling symbols and date of manufacture. Made in Germany, they also have a much shorter transport journey to the UK than common Far East sourced products.
They pay particular attention to energy-efficient production and a large proportion of their products already consist of recycled plastics. For example, their Raised Bed kits use 100% recycled plastics and their reusable, sustainable and biodegradable PLA based drinking cup is being developed into a plant pot.
